Blue Alpine offers layaway plans on its Elite trims, quoted at around $308 per month on the Medium Elite and $400 per month on the Large Elite. These are payment plans for a machine you receive at the end, not finance on a machine you take home first — a distinction worth being clear about.
What layaway actually is
Layaway means you pay in instalments and the seller holds the goods until the balance is cleared. You do not have the machine while you are paying. That is different from consumer finance, where you take delivery immediately and pay a lender over time, usually with interest.
The advantage of layaway is that there is normally no interest and no credit check, because the seller carries no risk — they still have the machine. The disadvantage is obvious: you cannot use it for the length of the plan.

Read the total, not the monthly
This applies to every payment plan ever advertised. Multiply the monthly figure by the number of months and compare it against the cash price. If the total is higher, that difference is the cost of the plan, and you should decide whether it is worth it rather than absorbing it unnoticed.
We have not been able to verify the plan duration from the public listings, so we cannot tell you what the totals come to. That is exactly the number to ask for before signing up, and any seller will give it to you.
The cheaper alternative nobody mentions
If you can wait the length of a layaway plan anyway, you can also just save for the same period and buy outright — usually at a lower total, and with the freedom to change your mind about which machine. Layaway makes sense when it stops you spending the money on something else, which is a real psychological benefit but not a financial one.
One thing to check
Ask whether a layaway deposit is refundable and what happens if you stop paying partway. Terms vary and this is not stated on the public product pages.
